About Happy Quills✨
At Happy Quills English Enrichment, we believe that strong language skills open doors to confidence, creativity, and clear thinking. Our lessons are designed to help students develop a deep understanding of English through engaging discussions, guided practice, and thoughtful feedback. Rather than focusing only on drills, we help children build the habits of strong readers, expressive writers, and curious learners who can communicate their ideas clearly.
Classes are conducted in small groups (max. 6-8) so that each child receives close guidance and meaningful support. Through carefully structured lessons, students strengthen their grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing skills while learning how to organise their thoughts with clarity and confidence. At Happy Quills, our goal is not only to help students do well in school, but to nurture a genuine love for language and learning. ✨

Hi! I'm Ms Umi✨
I'm the teacher behind Happy Quills.
After more than 15 years of teaching in MOE schools and tuition centres, I started to notice something that didn’t sit right with me.
Many classes were rushed. There was a lot to cover, but not enough time for children to really understand. Even in what some centres called a small-group setting, some students were simply trying to keep up while others were quietly left behind.
I’ve also worked with children who needed a different kind of support. Some needed more time. Some needed movement, short breaks, or a gentler approach - but not every classroom was designed for that.
That’s why I started Happy Quills.
In my lessons, I slow things down and teach step by step, so children understand how to write, not just what to write. I keep my classes small (6-8) so every child is noticed, and I adapt my teaching to fit each child, whether they need more structure, more encouragement, or simply a more comfortable space to learn.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English with Psychology and am NIE-trained, but more importantly, I focus on helping each child build confidence in a way that works for them.
So, if you’re looking for a class where your child can improve without feeling rushed or overlooked, you can start with a trial lesson to see if it’s the right fit ❤️
